OUR STORY
It all started when…
Preparing for an upcoming journey usually begins by sitting still. It is during that “sitting still” period that Pressing Pause was born. You plan, you think, some of us even pray, we seek wisdom and guidance from those who have been there before, we even attempt to change the plan and direction and then eventually we head out on that journey.
The story of Pressing Pause is that story. I sat still, sought wisdom, leaned in and listened, and then tried to talk myself out of it. Eventually I listened, we formalized the organization in 2017, but it has been brewing for years in the hearts and minds of many.
Every leader I have walked with, every one of them, asks themselves the same questions. They sound much like these:
Do I matter?
Does what I do matter?
What am I even doing?
How can I grow in my leadership?
What gaps do I have?
Can anyone help?
I asked myself those same questions and needed someone to journey with me as I began to uncover some of the answers to those questions, and guess what, the questions never end. I am still on that journey.
You can call it whatever you want, consultant, advisor, coach, mentor, discipler, navigator, or fellow journeyor, but what remains true is that we are designed to do life together and to invite others in. The story of Pressing Pause is very personal, just like each of our own stories are personal.
Not only is it personal, but the need is significant. Hopefully, we can be a part of meeting that need in the lives of those we engage.
